We stopped at several anchorages along the way between Santa Rosalia and Bahia de Los Angeles. They all had crystal clear, warm water and beaches that were great for walking. We did a couple of nice hikes where there was a view.
Ray and Tiki overlooking Ensenada el Quemado.

So you may wonder why it's not more crowded in Baha. We'll for one thing, there's bees. Lot's of bees. Here is what you'll get when you hang something to dry that has fresh water on it. We learned real quick not to use water during daylight unless we absolutely had to. But every now and then something needs to be washed or rinsed. The bees show up around sunrise and stay until about 30 minutes after sundown. All it takes to attract them is a few drops of water, even the dew in the morning can attract hundreds of bees to the boat. Not a pretty site but it's all part of the experience.

At the village of Bahia de los Angeles we visited the sand spit every afternoon for some quality "off leash" time.

The sand spit at sunset.

More running on the BLA sand spit.

La Mona beach is at the south end of Bahia de los Angeles. Any Gilligan's Island fan would appreciate the boat "name" of "SS Minnow" spray painted on the bow. We got a laugh out of it. The boat looks like it's been there a few decades.

La Mona was a beautiful spot with a little estuary lagoon behind the beach. Crews from several cruising boats met for an afternoon "full moon" party. We rode the current as the estuary emptied due to the ebbing tide. The tides here are about 10 feet during full and new moons.
BLA village was pretty interesting. It is a big sportsfishing area so there is some tourist stuff such as restaurants, stores, gift shops, etc. But there is not much infrastructure. They just connected to "the grid" for electricity in late 2007. There were two internet cafes in town. We could get into our email to view it, but the connection was so slow we usually couldn't send or respond to any email. At least we knew if anything was important in our In boxes. The nearest bank or ATM is 125 miles south in Santa Rosalia. "Progress" is coming soon though, there's a paved road into town now.
